Job Description
The VP of System Architecture is a senior role responsible for defining and driving the architectural strategy for the next generation of autonomous robotic platforms, ensuring modularity, scalability, and integration across hardware, software, and operational domains to support industrial inspection and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Define the architectural direction for next-generation robot platforms.
- Shape a shared modular foundation supporting multiple robot variants and business models.
- Drive architectural decisions across cross-functional teams spanning AI, hardware, software, mechatronics, and safety.
- Develop scalable platform strategies that enable rapid market expansion and customization.
- Ensure the architecture supports future customer needs, certification, and external integrations such as fleet management and digital twins.
Requirements
- Experience in defining architectural direction for robot platforms or similar complex systems.
- Ability to shape how a shared modular foundation supports multiple robot variants, operational design domains, and future business models.
- Experience spanning the full technology spectrum, including AI and autonomy, hardware, software, mechatronics, functional safety, system integration, and factory industrialization.
- Proven track record in helping evolve products into scalable families of platforms, balancing reuse, flexibility, performance, manufacturability, and long-term maintainability.
- Experience in making strong architectural decisions and driving alignment across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to anticipate future customer needs, new domains, certification requirements, and external integrations such as fleet management, predictive maintenance, and digital twins.
- Strong understanding of creating modular architecture, interfaces, and platform strategies for robotics or similar industries.
- Experience in industrial inspection and operations environments, especially in challenging or safety-critical environments such as explosion-proof systems in oil and gas, utilities, or similar sectors.
- Educational background or equivalent experience in engineering, computer science, robotics, or related fields (implied by senior technical role).
