Job Description
A Senior Research Engineer in robotics focusing on evaluating and developing AI, planning, and control technologies for autonomous robot navigation and perception, with responsibilities including designing experiments, building prototypes, and influencing the company's technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate cutting-edge AI, planning, and control technologies for robot autonomy and intelligence.
- Assess new technologies through designing proof-of-concept experiments and building research prototypes.
- Collaborate with engineers and partners to transfer promising research ideas to product development.
- Shape the technology roadmap by guiding long-term strategy to ensure solutions are robust and reliable.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in research engineering, robotics, or related fields with a focus on autonomous systems or robot navigation control.
- Proven experience in evaluating, designing, and implementing AI, planning, and control technologies for robotic systems.
- Demonstrated ability to design proof-of-concept experiments and build research prototypes related to robot autonomy and perception.
- Experience in assessing new technologies and transferring promising research ideas into product development teams.
- Strong understanding of environment perception, advanced planning, and control algorithms for mobile robots.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and external partners to evaluate and develop robotic technologies.
- A track record of contributing to research that shapes technology roadmaps and guides long-term strategic planning in robotics.
- Hands-on experimentation skills in robotics, AI, or control systems, with the ability to conduct hands-on research and testing.
- Educational background in engineering, computer science, robotics, or a related technical field (implied, as the role is senior and research-focused).
