Key Responsibilities
Take full technical ownership and product care of 1-2 key high-complexity PCBAs (e.g., our complex communication switches or Battery Management Systems)
Drive the PCBA development process from initial architecture and schematics through layout, prototyping, debugging, and production handover
Strategically review and simplify our current PCBA portfolio across ANYmal product lines to optimize system architecture
Establish rigorous test specifications and verification protocols to ensure flawless execution during productization
Collaborate closely with systems engineers and cross-functional teams to integrate electronics seamlessly into the robot
Champion high-quality engineering standards within the EE team, bringing strong industrial experience to the table
Requirements
Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field with at least 7 years of hands-on experience developing electronics boards for industrial, aerospace, or military applications
Expert-level proficiency in industry-standard ECAD software (e.g., KiCad, Altium) and simulation tools like SPICE
Proven track record of layouting your own complex designs with strict creepage, clearance, and isolation constraints for safety-critical applications
Extensive experience designing for harsh environments, including a strong background in meeting EMI/EMC compliance and functional safety standards
Deep expertise in debugging, verification, and defining testing specifications for manufacturing production
Strong proficiency in at least two of the following areas: Battery Management Systems (BMS), power electronics/motor drives, high-speed interfaces (USB, EtherCAT, WiFi), or MCU-based embedded systems
Highly accountable mindset with the ability to make firm technical decisions and own the outcomes in a dynamic environment
