Job Description
A Senior Backend Engineer responsible for designing and developing scalable, robust backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript to enable communication and operation of autonomous robots in industrial environments, primarily working onsite in Barcelona with some remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design robust, scalable backend systems for robot communication, reporting, and operation
- Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and MQTT
- Implement real-time data handling and complex data orchestration for autonomous robot ecosystems
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on designing robust, scalable systems, preferably in the context of robotics, industrial environments, or real-time data processing.
- Extensive experience with Node.js and TypeScript for backend development.
- Practical experience with NestJS framework for building server-side applications.
- Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL for database management and data orchestration.
- Experience working with MQTT protocol to handle real-time robot telemetry and data communication.
- Ability to design and implement mission-critical software ecosystems, including components such as Data Navigator, Mission Controller, and Field Operator App.
- Strong understanding of modern backend architecture principles, including clean architecture and scalable system design.
- Experience working in or with industrial environments, especially in sectors such as energy, chemicals, or mining, is preferred.
- Legal right to live and work in Spain, with residence in Barcelona or willingness to relocate, as this is not a fully remote role and requires presence in the lab in Barcelona.
