Job Description
Anew Climate is seeking a proactive Finance Intern to support corporate and strategic finance activities, including financial analysis, modeling, dashboard creation, and reporting, in a fast-growing decarbonization company focused on delivering climate impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform monthly and ad-hoc variance analysis, document drivers, and support automation of reports
- Build, update, and analyze project-level financial and valuation models, including sensitivity and scenario analyses
- Design, maintain, and update interactive dashboards for financial and operational metrics
- Reconcile actuals to budgets, investigate discrepancies, and update dashboards accordingly
- Monitor commodity price trends, produce analyses, and quantify their impact
- Prepare summaries and presentation materials for leadership and cross-functional teams
- Document data sources and reporting processes, and suggest process improvements
Requirements
- Working on a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or relevant field
- Excellent computer skills including a high degree of ability to effectively utilize a variety of internal and external software resources to gather and analyze a wide range of data
- Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.
- Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and self-motivation skills with a solution seeking mindset
- Effective communicator and an ability to work cross-functionally across the organization (e.g., with Business Development, Operations, Accounting)
- Proven experience to finish work, projects, and duties as assigned and complete them by strict deadlines
- Prior professional experience, internships, and/or collegiate research (preferred but not mandatory)
- Must reside in or be willing to self-relocate to the Houston area for the duration of the internship
