Job Description

The Senior Director of Engineering for Activation at Amperity leads multiple teams responsible for developing customer engagement platforms, shaping technical strategy, and delivering intuitive, high-performance solutions that enable marketers to connect with their customers effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multiple engineering teams responsible for customer activation features and capabilities.
  • Define and execute the technical strategy for delivering intuitive customer experiences and activation functionalities.
  • Ensure cross-team coordination across geographies and time zones to operate as a cohesive organization.
  • Guide the development of real-time querying capabilities and integrations with industry-leading platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Build and nurture diverse, inclusive, and high-performing teams through mentoring and leadership development.
  • Drive organizational learning, continuous improvement, and operational excellence through metrics and processes.
  • Contribute to technical strategy and decision-making across domains such as query systems and connector technologies.

Requirements

  • 15 years of engineering experience, including 5 years leading managers of managers.
  • Experience leading multiple teams across geographies and time zones, aligning them to a shared vision and measurable goals.
  • Experience mentoring managers and individual contributors, and building diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe teams.
  • Experience overseeing and delivering complex projects and making decisions that shape long-term organizational success.
  • Focus on operational excellence, with the ability to establish and champion group-wide metrics and processes that improve organizational health.
  • Technical credibility across domains such as query systems and connector technologies, with the ability to contribute to strategy while empowering teams to manage execution.
  • Experience recruiting and retaining top talent, and leading organizations through evolving priorities and complex dependencies.
