Job Description
The role involves leading the growth and strategic direction of ChuckData, a developer-focused data engineering platform, by managing business, product, and community initiatives, while driving adoption, engagement, and industry influence in the data ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute ChuckData's business strategy, vision, and P&L management.
- Define long-term goals, success metrics, and investment priorities for the product and business.
- Drive business model innovation through PLG, community-led growth, open-source engagement, and monetization strategies.
- Guide product strategy in collaboration with engineering and product teams to meet data engineering needs across cloud platforms.
- Cultivate and amplify the community presence, building trust and advocacy among developers and industry stakeholders.
- Translate community insights and market feedback into differentiated product value.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to drive adoption, engagement, and partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry partners and ecosystem players to expand distribution.
- Establish and track growth KPIs such as user acquisition, retention, engagement, and revenue impact.
- Develop industry influence through analyst relations, thought leadership, and participation in conferences and publications.
- Recruit, lead, and inspire a cross-functional team, fostering a culture of experimentation, learning, and accountability.
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in product development, growth initiatives, and community engagement.
Requirements
- 15 years of progressive leadership experience across product, go-to-market, and general management roles.
- At least 5 years of managing managers and high-level performing individual contributors.
- Expertise in building and scaling product-led growth (PLG) businesses in developer tools, data platforms, or AI.
- Experience overseeing a P L, business strategy, and end-to-end execution.
- Experience with data engineering and developer ecosystems.
- Familiarity with MarTech and AdTech landscapes is a bonus.
- Credibility with industry analysts and experience in building market narratives and thought leadership.
- Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with influence across executives, engineers, and developer communities.
- Entrepreneurial builder mindset, excels in ambiguity, embraces risk, and can convert setbacks into momentum.
- Experience building high-performing teams and fostering a culture of experimentation and bold bets.
- Hands-on operator who excels in a coach-player role.
- Location in Seattle, WA, with a hybrid work model including three days in the office each week.
