Job Description
The Legal Counsel will act as a strategic partner within Amber, providing legal guidance on global SaaS licensing, V2G technology, and energy regulations, supporting various teams to navigate complex legal and commercial challenges in the renewable energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and assess legal risks across the business.
- Provide strategic legal advice to teams including Product, Operations, Marketing, and Business Development.
- Navigate and advise on global SaaS licensing, V2G technology, and energy regulations.
- Support the development and review of commercial agreements and contracts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in energy and technology sectors.
Requirements
- Legal Counsel must have experience in navigating unchartered territory in global SaaS licensing, V2G technology, and complex energy regulations.
- Legal Counsel must be a strategic partner to key teams including Product, Operations, Marketing, and Business Development within the business.
- Legal Counsel must be able to identify risks and help teams navigate complex legal and regulatory environments related to energy and technology.
- Legal Counsel must be based in Australia, preferably in Melbourne, with full working rights.
- Legal Counsel must be willing to work in a full-time or part-time capacity.
- Legal Counsel must have the ability to work flexibly between office and home, with an expectation to remain Melbourne based but maintain flexibility.
- Legal Counsel must have experience or knowledge relevant to energy regulations, SaaS licensing, and V2G technology (implied by the role's responsibilities).

Compensation/salary range circa 155,000 AUD per annum excluding superannuation
