Job Description
The Senior Production Engineer at Alarm.com is responsible for designing, setting up, and optimizing manufacturing processes, assembly jigs, and testing fixtures for electronic products, ensuring quality, efficiency, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and support assembly jigs, testing fixtures, and manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and manufacturability.
- Lead setup of product assembly testing environment, SOPs, and production lines for new products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and validate manufacturing systems and documentation.
- Coordinate with quality and test engineers to validate manufacturing environments and ensure readiness for production.
- Analyze production failures and implement continuous improvements in manufacturing quality and process efficiency.
Requirements
- BS or MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electronic Engineering
- 10 years of hands-on production engineering experience in laying out and setting up production lines including product assembly and system testing from early production builds to mass production builds
- Proficient in designing test jigs and test fixtures for consumer and commercial electronic devices
- Professional language proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Ability for as needed pan-Asian and US travel
- Proven records of understanding the assembly and testing of consumer and commercial electronic products
- Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of assembly and testing requirements for various electronic products especially camera products, wireless communications including WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and NFC products and gateway bridge products
- Experienced in constructing professional quality assembly SOP and system test SOP
- Expertise in designing assembly jigs and testing fixtures for various consumer and commercial products
- Proficiency in various application software such as Excel and PowerPoint for effective communication with stakeholders
- Established engineering capabilities in debugging production and product failures with effective engineering fixes for resolving and improving related problems
- Good understanding of quality, reliability, and compliance requirements
