Job Description
A Manufacturing Test Engineer responsible for designing, programming, and optimizing testing systems for electronic products, ensuring quality and efficiency in mass production, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and validate product and system testing setups.
- Program and set up test equipment to meet testing requirements.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing test methodologies for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
- Lead efforts with manufacturing partners to program and improve automated testing processes.
- Review and validate manufacturing test systems and documentation for mass production.
- Analyze production testing failures and implement engineering fixes to improve yields.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering
- 6 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing test for consumer or commercial electronic products designed to be mass manufacturable
- Professional language proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Ability for as needed pan-Asian and US travel
- Proven experience in CLI Command Line Interface on various testing environments and in Python test scripts and MatLab
- Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of testing requirements for various electronic products especially camera products, wireless communications including WiFi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Z-Wave, NFC products, and AP gateway bridge products
- Experience in constructing professional quality test specifications, test setup, and test reports
- Expertise in developing test flow control, e.g., AAB test flow to interact with manufacturing shopfloor system, and in setting up and programming test equipment for various consumer and commercial products
- Proficiency in application software such as Excel and PowerPoint for effective communication with stakeholders
- Established engineering capabilities in debugging production testing failures with effective engineering fixes to resolve and improve related problems
- Good understanding of quality, reliability, and compliance requirements
- Professional written, verbal, and presentation skills in English and Chinese, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
