Job Description
The Senior Associate, Commercial at Akaysha is responsible for developing and executing innovative offtake products and commercial strategies to support large-scale battery storage projects, driving market innovation and accelerating the energy transition through cross-functional collaboration and market analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advanced offtake products such as capacity swaps, virtual tolling, and revenue-sharing agreements.
- Support the execution of projects approaching financial investment decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues and integrate technical considerations into commercial agreements.
- Manage commercial contracts including OEM and BOP agreements, risk assessments, and project timelines.
- Originate and execute offtake strategies, evaluate new revenue products, and build relationships with potential offtakers.
- Track market trends and policy developments to inform market strategy and ensure regulatory alignment.
- Identify partnership opportunities, prepare investment proposals, and support deal structuring for business development.
Requirements
- A strong foundation in procurement and supply chain management, with technical knowledge of long-lead and battery component procurement, supplier engagement, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proven capability in project agreement risk analysis, with the ability to assess risk across interconnected agreements to ensure alignment with commercial and operational objectives.
- A solid grasp of the energy sector, including an understanding of energy sector dynamics, compliance frameworks, and applied knowledge of the Australian energy market and BESS-related regulations.
- Excellent communication and influence skills, with the ability to deliver clear, evidence-based messaging and adapt communication style to suit diverse audiences and contexts.
- Demonstrated strength in change management and resilience, showing adaptability in navigating uncertainty, solving problems, and maintaining focus to drive positive outcomes in complex environments.
