Job Description
A strategic and creative Social Media Manager responsible for developing and executing social media strategies, creating engaging content, building community engagement, and establishing the company's thought leadership across platforms within the private capital industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies across platforms to build community engagement and thought leadership.
- Create platform-specific content, including social copy, graphics, videos, and thought leadership posts.
- Capture and perform light editing on high-quality video and photo content from events and interviews.
- Manage and evolve the brand's social media voice and develop content calendars aligned with industry events and trends.
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions to foster community discussions and relationships.
- Build relationships with influencers, industry leaders, and potential customers through authentic engagement.
- Develop and activate employee advocacy programs to amplify social presence.
- Track, analyze, and report on social media performance metrics to optimize content and measure ROI.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of B2B social media experience with a proven track record building engaged communities and driving business results
- Reddit expertise with demonstrated ability to build authentic community presence and engagement
- Experience developing and activating employee advocacy programs
- Community management experience with a track record of growing engaged, active communities
- Comfortable capturing high-quality video and photo content in various settings
- Light editing skills using video and photo editing software
- Proficiency with content creation tools including graphic design software such as Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, and social media management platforms like Buffer and Sprout
- Understanding of social media advertising and ability to create content that performs well in paid campaigns
- Exceptional storytelling skills with the ability to make complex or boring concepts engaging and accessible
- Strong brand voice development skills, with the ability to adapt core messaging for different social platforms
- Visual design sense for creating compelling graphics and social content
- Trend awareness with the ability to adapt social media trends for B2B audiences when appropriate
- Strong copywriting skills across different platforms and content formats
- Understanding of private capital markets preferred but not required, with willingness to learn VC and PE terminology and culture
- Platform-specific cultural fluency, especially Reddit’s community guidelines, etiquette, and communication styles
- B2B marketing sensibilities with the ability to balance thought leadership with business objectives
- Highly creative and innovative with the ability to bring fresh ideas specific to reaching VCs and PE professionals
- Extremely responsive and able to capitalize on opportunities quickly
- Data-driven mindset with a commitment to measuring performance and optimizing based on results
- Strong communication skills with the ability to represent Affinity’s brand voice authentically across platforms
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $118,000 - $137,000 USD base, dependent on experience and location
Work schedule: Remote with optional in-office 2-3 days per week for San Francisco or New York residents
