Job Description
The role involves developing and executing social media strategies and creating high-quality video content to build community engagement and establish thought leadership within the private capital markets, primarily targeting venture capital and private equity professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute social media strategies across multiple platforms to build community engagement and thought leadership in private capital.
- Create and produce high-quality video content, including interviews, demos, testimonials, and educational videos, with rapid turnaround for social media.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop social-first content that simplifies complex concepts and aligns with industry events and trends.
- Monitor, respond to, and foster genuine engagement with comments, messages, and community discussions across social platforms.
- Track and analyze social media performance metrics to optimize content strategies and report on ROI and engagement results.
Requirements
- 5-7 years of B2B social media experience with proven track record building engaged communities and driving business results
- Advanced video production skills including shooting, editing, and post-production using professional tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar
- Expertise in Reddit with demonstrated ability to build authentic community presence and engagement
- Professional video editing proficiency with ability to produce content from concept to completion quickly
- Experience across social media platforms including LinkedIn, Twitter X, Reddit, YouTube, and emerging platforms
- Ability to create high-quality video content including thought leadership interviews, product demos, customer testimonials, and educational content
- Ability to execute rapid-turnaround video editing for social media, from initial concept to published content
- Experience in developing video content series that establish industry thought leadership
- Experience in creating social-first content that drives engagement in collaboration with Product Marketing and Content Marketing teams
- Ability to transform complex relationship intelligence concepts into compelling, accessible social media content
- Proficiency in creating visual content, infographics, and social media graphics that clearly communicate value propositions
- Ability to develop content calendars aligned with industry events, market trends, and business priorities
- Experience monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and mentions across all social platforms
- Ability to build relationships with key influencers, industry leaders, and potential customers through authentic engagement
- Experience managing crisis communications and handling sensitive conversations professionally
- Track record of building engaged, active communities through community management
- Ability to track and report on key social media metrics including engagement, reach, traffic, and lead generation
- Experience using analytics to optimize content strategy and identify high-performing content formats
- Ability to conduct A/B testing on content formats, posting times, and engagement strategies
- Proficiency in using social media management platforms, content creation tools including graphic design software, and analytics tools
- Understanding of social media advertising and ability to create content that performs well in paid campaigns
- Strong storytelling skills with ability to make complex B2B concepts engaging and accessible
- Visual design sense for creating compelling graphics, thumbnails, and visual content
- Trend awareness and ability to adapt social media trends for B2B audiences
- Understanding of private capital markets and willingness to learn VC and PE terminology and culture
- Platform-specific cultural fluency, especially Reddit’s community guidelines, etiquette, and communication styles
- B2B marketing sensibilities with ability to balance thought leadership with business objectives
- Experience in community building with a track record of growing engaged, active communities
- Highly creative and innovative mindset with ability to bring fresh ideas specific to reaching VCs and PE professionals
- Responsiveness to social media trends and ability to capitalize on opportunities quickly
- Data-driven mindset with commitment to measuring performance and optimizing based on results
- Strong communication skills with ability to authentically represent Affinity’s brand voice across platforms
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new social media platforms and community nuances
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $79,100.00 - $105,480.00 CAD base
Work location: Remote or Toronto, Canada with a hub-hybrid model (2-3 days in-office per week)
