The Assistant Controller will oversee technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for a scaling SaaS business, managing complex accounting areas, the monthly close process, and external audits, while collaborating across systems and teams to improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Own technical accounting areas including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, capitalized software, and leases.
Contribute to the monthly close process and ensure timely financial reporting across all entities.
Prepare and oversee the accuracy of monthly internal financial statements and full GAAP financial reports for annual filings.
Manage the external audit process, including PBC schedules, fieldwork coordination, and communication with auditors.
Administer the company's equity program through Carta, including option grants, exercises, and expense tracking.
Establish, maintain, and improve internal controls and accounting policies as the company scales.
Collaborate across systems such as NetSuite, FloQast, Ramp, Rippling, Carta, and MonetizeNow to optimize operational processes.
Requirements
Six (6) years of experience in public accounting at a Big 4 or national firm plus industry experience, or a longer industry track record with strong technical depth.
CPA certification is required.
Demonstrated hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition, ASC 718 stock-based compensation, and ASC 350-40 capitalized software in a SaaS environment, with actual ownership of these areas.
Experience managing an audit cycle end-to-end, including PBC schedules, fieldwork coordination, and auditor communication.
Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency financial close processes.
Proficiency with NetSuite, with the ability to improve systems beyond just using them.
Strong written communication skills, including authoring technical memos, policies, and communications for auditors and leadership.

Compensation/salary range: $158,000 - $198,000 USD base
Work schedule: Hybrid model, in-office 2-3 days per week (Tuesday through Thursday)
