The Grants Manager will oversee end-to-end grant management for a large, multi-year donor-funded program, ensuring compliance, financial tracking, and effective communication across global teams to support social enterprise development in Africa.
Key Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end grant processes, ensuring compliance, financial tracking, and timely reporting
Coordinate and support program operations, including documentation, milestone tracking, and stakeholder meetings
Oversee financial compliance by reviewing expenses, maintaining budgets, and ensuring accurate financial reporting
Build and maintain relationships with partners, conduct due diligence, and support partner agreements and capacity building
Lead donor reporting by drafting, reviewing, and finalizing narrative and financial reports, and monitoring financial performance
Requirements
Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience managing complex, grant funded, multi-year projects.
Direct experience with major international, corporate donors, foundations and non profit organisations.
Exceptional organizational skills, including time and project management, and ability to meet deadlines.
Strong project and grant reporting experience with knowledge of systems leading project and grant reporting systems e.g., Salesforce, Asana, etc.
Programme management qualifications equivalent to PRINCE2.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for diverse stakeholders across regions and at varying levels of accountabilities.
Experience in managing and understanding results frameworks, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) systems, logframes and learning agendas.
Prior regional, in-country experience working in East and West Africa, preferred.
Willingness to travel according to grant requirements and work across time zones US, UK, Africa.
Authorized to work in Canada, based in Toronto.
