Job Description
The role involves leading the design, implementation, and management of a grants program that provides catalytic funding to early-stage climate-focused enterprises in Africa, with a focus on creating green jobs for young women and youth. The position requires overseeing the entire funding lifecycle, supporting funded enterprises, and ensuring program impact and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine the Funding to Build program strategy, structure, and processes in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end application, selection, and grant execution process, including evaluation, due diligence, and contract signing.
- Oversee post-disbursement activities such as onboarding, monitoring KPIs, reporting, and impact assessment to ensure effective support and accountability for funded enterprises.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in program and or grants management, impact investing, enterprise support, venture building or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end funding or selection processes.
- Strong understanding of early-stage entrepreneurship, ideally within climate or sustainability sectors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with experience translating data into insights.
- Proven people management experience.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and comfort operating within governance frameworks.
- Permanently authorized to work in Nairobi, Kenya or Lagos, Nigeria.
