Job Description
The Data Systems Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling Salesforce and connected data platforms to support impact measurement and reporting. The role combines technical leadership, project management, and team capacity building to ensure data quality, governance, and effective use across a global, bilingual team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data architecture and systems for Impact data within Salesforce and connected platforms.
- Manage project execution for system build, migration, and integration of legacy data with new structures.
- Establish and oversee data governance, quality assurance, and compliance frameworks.
- Create dashboards and reports for routine impact data analysis and visualization using Salesforce, Airtable, and other tools.
- Build, train, and lead a distributed data operations team across regions, including onboarding, capacity building, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, project managing, or implementing data architecture and data systems.
- Proven experience creating or developing project management for the design and implementation of new Salesforce objects or system configurations.
- Experience on development within Salesforce would be welcome.
- Experience integrating multiple platforms and workflows such as Airtable, Power BI, Zapier, and Salesforce dashboards.
- Experience working on Impact Management and Measurement or Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning teams in investment, ESG, or INGO organizations.
- Project management experience in delivering data and systems transformation projects.
- Experience in data analysis and visualization activities, including building dashboards and reports.
- Degree in a quantitative field is preferred but not required.
- Strong systems thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to balance technical depth with user needs.
- Ability to build technology systems to produce effective impact and data analyses and insights for the Academy.
- Experience training or enabling non-technical users.
- Ability to build and develop a data function within a not-for-profit organization.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a high-paced environment.
- Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen's values.
- Authorized to work in Colombia.
- Willingness and ability to work effectively across multiple time zones in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience in designing, developing, implementing, and scaling robust data systems across Salesforce and connected platforms.
- Experience in developing data management frameworks to address data systems adoption, data quality, and system design challenges.
- Ability to establish governance for system access, including user roles, permissions, and platform security.
- Experience in overseeing data quality, data governance frameworks, and quality assurance processes.
- Experience in undertaking data analyses and visualization activities, including building dashboards for routine reporting.
- Experience in building capacity of teams to undertake data analyses and visualization activities.
- Experience in building and mentoring a distributed data operations team across regions.
- Experience in onboarding new staff to systems and designing in-house onboarding processes.
- Experience in leading bilingual training to develop data capacity across teams.
- Experience in collaborating with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure data security and compliance.
- Experience in managing data system requests and building capacity amongst staff to handle data tasks themselves.
- Experience in budgeting realistically for data functions.
- Technical experience with SurveyMonkey Apply, FormAssembly, HubSpot, Google Suite, Google Looker Studio, Airtable, Power BI, and Salesforce dashboards is a bonus.
