Job Description
The Data Systems Lead is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing global data systems within Salesforce and connected platforms, leading a distributed team, ensuring data quality and governance, and supporting impact reporting for Acumen Academy's impact-focused initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data management architecture aligned with impact reporting needs.
- Project manage the redevelopment and integration of Salesforce and connected platforms, including data migration and system configuration.
- Establish and oversee data governance, quality assurance, and compliance frameworks.
- Create dashboards and reports using Salesforce, Airtable, and other tools for routine data analysis and visualization.
- Build, train, and mentor a distributed data operations team across regions, including onboarding and capacity building.
- Provide bilingual training, support, and documentation to enhance data system adoption and user proficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration between Salesforce and other platforms like LMS, marketing tools, and event systems.
Requirements
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish, with the ability to develop bilingual user experience strategies, training, support, and documentation.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in designing, project managing, or implementing data architecture and data systems.
- Proven experience creating or developing project management for the design and implementation of new Salesforce objects or system configurations.
- Experience on Salesforce at the administrator level; experience in development is welcome.
- Experience integrating multiple platforms and workflows such as Airtable, Power BI, Zapier, and other connected systems.
- Experience working on Impact Management and Measurement or Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning teams within investment, ESG, or INGO organizations.
- Project management experience in delivering data and systems transformation projects.
- Experience in data analysis and visualization activities, including building dashboards for routine reporting using Salesforce and Airtable.
- Degree in a quantitative field is preferred but not required.
- Strong systems thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to balance technical depth with user needs.
- Ability to build technology systems that produce effective impact and data analyses and insights for the organization.
- Experience training or enabling non-technical users.
- Ability to build and develop a data function within a not-for-profit organization.
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve in a high-paced environment.
- Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen's values.
- Authorized to work in Colombia, with the role based in Bogotá.
- Willingness and ability to work effectively across multiple time zones in a hybrid work environment.
