Job Description
The Data Mobility Solutions Architect will lead the design and execution of data mobility and optimization strategies for customers, collaborating with various teams to implement transformative solutions that align with business objectives. This role requires a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-sales to hands-on implementation.
Responsibilities
- •Lead, design, and execute data mobility and optimization strategies for customers.
- •Collaborate with sales, product, and professional services to position IT and migration solutions.
- •Assess customer technical needs and craft tailored migration and mobility strategies.
- •Develop, review, and approve Statements of Work (SOWs) and support RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
- •Provide governance and leadership throughout migration implementation.
- •Work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality service delivery.
- •Deliver hands-on technical solutions, training, and knowledge transfer to customers.
- •Monitor and resolve customer escalations to maintain satisfaction.
- •Lead data mobility and migration strategy discussions and design architectures.
- •Conduct technical discovery of customer environments and perform risk assessments.
- •Develop end-to-end migration plans with risk mitigation strategies.
- •Create and maintain technical documentation and engineering documents.
- •Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in multiple migration domains.
- •Lead and manage global projects, fostering collaboration across teams.
- •Act as a trusted advisor to customers, aligning solutions with business needs.
- •Foster a culture of continuous improvement by sharing insights and best practices.
Requirements
- •Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- •10 years of experience in IT architecture, data migration, technical consulting or related domains.
- •Demonstrated success in customer-facing consulting roles, particularly in pre-sales and solution delivery.
- •Hands-on expertise in at least four data migration areas: block, file, object, application, host-based.
- •Experience with SAN, NAS, and iSCSI storage implementations, including zoning configuration with different Fiber channel switches, end-to-end iSCSI configuration, multipathing, and LVM configuration.
- •Experience with Windows CIFS SMB protocols, SMB security mechanisms, DFS namespace, NTFS Access control list, directory services authentication, and multiprotocol access.
- •Experience with different flavors of Unix system administration, including different versions of NFS protocols, security mechanisms, managing permissions (POSIX, ACLs), automounter, and directory services authentication.
- •Proficiency in System Administration, DevOps Engineering, or Platform Engineering, demonstrating proficiency with Windows, Linux, and/or Unix operating system environments.
- •Expert-level understanding of NAS protocols (NFS, SMB CIFS), file system permissions, encryption, and secure data access.
- •Demonstrated expertise as a Senior Storage Engineer or comparable role specializing in the implementation and management of solutions.
