Job Description
The Corporate Counsel at Planet will provide legal support for sales and business development teams, focusing on drafting, negotiating, and reviewing agreements in the Commercial, Civil Government, and Defense Intelligence sectors, while collaborating with various teams to streamline legal processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal support for sales and business development teams.
- Draft, negotiate, and review agreements with customers in various sectors.
- Collaborate with the Space Systems Business Development group.
- Prepare and update standard templates for agreements.
- Serve as key negotiator for commercial agreements.
- Provide agreement risk assessments and recommendations.
- Support improvements to the legal department's processes and operations.
- Mentor junior team members.
Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited US law school, admission to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state where the candidate is located.
- 6-8 years experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements such as licenses, supply, and services agreements.
- Experience analyzing significant or unique contract requirements to ensure compliance with corporate policies, with appropriate managerial approval.
- Demonstrated success with reviewing and negotiating terms with international governments.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and to manage multiple demands, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of an organization.
- Ability to balance risk tolerance and business objectives.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication to the target audience.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and as such, employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate's ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

US base salary range of $160,600 - $228,600 depending on location and experience
