Job Description
The role involves leading innovative efforts in Production Engineering to enhance the development cycle of data storage products, focusing on optimizing operations, managing infrastructure, and supporting internal engineering teams through automation and tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers within the datacenter
- Manage and maintain OpenStack-based infrastructure for virtualization, networking, and storage
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and failover mechanisms for critical systems
- Perform capacity planning and resource allocation to optimize hardware utilization
- Implement security best practices for access control, patch management, and system hardening
- Perform vulnerability assessments and mitigate security risks
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot services to avoid bottlenecks and ensure robust infrastructure
- Build debug tools and analyze test failures across a multi-machine hardware software stack
- Provide continuous support to internal engineering teams for efficient code delivery
- Utilize a data-driven approach to identify and resolve problems
- Develop automated processes to evaluate service adherence to defined SLAs
- Standardize and optimize the use of observability and incident management tools
- Participate in backlog refinement and project planning
- Participate in postmortem analysis for continuous improvement
Requirements
- 8 years of experience as DevOps Engineer or similar role in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience in datacenter operations, including physical and virtual server management.
- Expertise in virtualization technologies VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM.
- Experience with LAN WAN networking schemes such as DNS, ACLs, TCP IP, and OSI models.
- Experience with containers and container orchestration systems such as Docker.
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or Terraform.
- Experience with the implementation, maintenance, and support of observability monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting practices.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management tools such as Okta, AD, SSO, OAuth, SAML.
- Ability to work from the Santa Clara, CA office in compliance with Pure's policies.
