Job Description
The Engineering Program Manager at Planet is responsible for leading satellite development programs, managing cross-functional teams, and ensuring project execution from planning through launch. This role requires strong technical expertise and excellent organizational skills to drive productivity and solve problems in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead satellite development programs from planning through launch.
- Manage workflow and track evolving requirements.
- Develop project schedules and budgets, tracking performance.
- Oversee execution of technical plans with internal and external teams.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders to manage deliverables and milestones.
- Ensure efficient execution of all program phases.
- Coordinate schedules and status updates with engineering teams.
- Drive productivity and progress on concurrent projects.
- Develop tools and processes to improve engineering productivity.
- Drive root cause problem-solving and eliminate blocking issues.
Requirements
- BA/BS in a technically relevant field.
- 6 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in an engineering project management role for the development of software or hardware systems in a cross-functional, cross-organizational context.
- Experience working with and managing external partners, suppliers, vendors, and customers to drive program success.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including externally to customers.
- Experience leading operational projects from evaluation and design to execution.
- Ability to be self-motivated and enthusiastic with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- This position requires access to export-controlled information, and as such, employment or hiring of a contractor is contingent upon the candidate's ability to access all applicable export-controlled information without additional export licensing being required by the Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.

US base salary range of 144,500 - 180,600 USD
