Job Description
The Chemical Operator at Redwood Materials is responsible for operating, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex chemical plant systems to ensure safe and efficient production processes in the recycling of materials for electric vehicle batteries.
Responsibilities
- •Operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot plant systems
- •Perform in-process analyses to ensure systems remain within specified parameters
- •Remedy unsafe conditions and report issues requiring immediate action
- •Conduct day-to-day operations of a continuously running production line
- •Start-up, shutdown, monitor, inspect, operate, and adjust plant equipment
- •Analyze trends in plant parameters to respond to process deviations
- •Operate production equipment including holding tanks, pumps, and filtration systems
- •Perform routine product sampling and verify results
- •Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams for effective communication
Requirements
- •High school diploma or equivalent.
- •6 months of relevant experience in chemical plant operations preferred.
- •Ability to perform the necessary physical tasks associated with the position including bending, lifting, twisting, climbing, standing, and walking.
- •Ability to work with personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hard hat, disposable coveralls, and Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) for extended periods of time.
- •Ability to complete a respiratory fit test and respiratory medical evaluation.
- •Ability to operate and train on equipment such as forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other specialized machinery.
- •Ability to work in difficult working conditions, including exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, for extended periods of time.
- •Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or quantitative productivity standards.

- •Shifts: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Sun-Tues every other Wed, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Sun-Tues every other Wed, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM Thurs-Sat every other Wed, 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM Thurs-Sat every other Wed
- •10% differential for certain shifts
