Job Description
The Senior Engineer will join the Distributed Energy Resources team at Energy Solutions, focusing on building science, energy-efficient technologies, and energy savings methodologies to drive customer participation in programs that promote the adoption of various distributed energy resources. Responsibilities include equipment review, data analysis, report writing, and project management to support the development and implementation of energy-saving initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with driving customer participation in DER programs
- Develop analysis of savings, costs, and impacts of energy-efficient technologies
- Develop calculation methodologies for demand and demand response potential
- Write reports on technical topics related to energy savings and compliance
- Support development of proposals and business development efforts
- Lead project direction, management, quality control, and completion of deliverables
- Coordinate and communicate engineering topics between technical and non-technical staff
- Develop and lead strategies to optimize energy savings and GHG reductions
- Monitor project progress and communicate updates to management and clients
- Provide oversight and guidance to supporting staff for quality and compliance
Requirements
- A technical Bachelor’s degree with a preference towards mechanical, electrical, environmental, or architectural engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of engineering or work experience in a related area.
- Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, and other energy codes.
- Demonstrated ability to write reports, technical papers, and provide technical presentations to knowledgeable audiences.
- Experience with data analysis, scripting, and large-scale simulations.
- Project management experience including budget development and management.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to conduct occasional business travel.
