Job Description
The Policy Analyst will conduct research and data analysis to support the electrification of buildings, transportation, and industry, developing policy recommendations and communicating findings to various audiences. The role requires strong technical and quantitative skills, along with experience in climate and energy policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research into technologies and policies for electrification of buildings, transportation, and industry.
- Perform data analysis and develop policy recommendations based on research findings.
- Communicate research findings through reports, visualizations, and presentations.
- Maintain documentation of analysis methods and results.
- Identify and utilize publicly available databases for relevant data.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic goals with the Senior Electrification Director.
- Synthesize and present research findings to inform decision-making.
- Create data graphics for written materials and respond to media inquiries.
Requirements
- At least 3-4 years of experience in energy and climate policy analysis, including an understanding of technical research and experience interpreting legislation and/or regulations.
- Understanding of the fundamentals of scientific and technical subject matter relating to environmental systems, climate change, energy technologies, and policy design.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing about complex technical subjects for a non-technical audience.
- Experience and demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Excel for data sets and data analysis.
- Knowledge of U.S. or international politics related to climate.
- Effective and flexible interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills for technical and policy audiences.
- Deep interest, passion, and commitment to reducing climate change.
- Ability to prioritize and be flexible in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, and collaborative environment.
- Willingness to travel.
- Self-motivated and entrepreneurial, but able to work well on a team.

Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000
Work schedule: In-office one to three days a week
