Job Description
The CAD Drafter Draftsperson intern at Atwell, LLC will support the design team by preparing process flow and instrumentation diagrams, generating design documents, and creating piping and equipment models using CadWorx, while collaborating with various stakeholders in the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Process Flow and Process Instrumentation Diagrams in accordance with industry standards.
- Generate design documents from three-dimensional models and create piping and equipment models utilizing CadWorx.
- Read and develop documents including plot plans, piping plans, sections, details, equipment models, and piping isometric drawings.
- Integrate customer piping specifications into CadWorx Spec Editor software.
- Conduct facility field assessments and gather data for as-built documentation.
- Interface with in-house engineering, project management, drafting, purchasing, and outside consultants.
- Prepare documents to meet company and client quality standards while maintaining project schedules.
- Check layouts, designs, and general arrangements of other designers for accuracy and compliance.
- Participate in internal and external project meetings to develop project requirements and review design.
Requirements
- Proficient in AutoCAD and CadWorx required.
- Ability to prepare Process Flow and Process Instrumentation Diagrams in accordance with industry standards.
- Ability to generate design documents from three-dimensional models and create piping and equipment models utilizing CadWorx.
- Ability to read and develop documents including plot plans, piping plans, sections, details, equipment models, and piping isometric drawings.
- Capable of reading, understanding, and integrating customer piping specifications into CadWorx Spec Editor software.
- Ability to conduct facility field assessments and gather data required to produce as-built documentation.
- Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and meet established deadlines.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment under minimum supervision.
- Possess problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Must have an Associates degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience.
- Must have a minimum of 2 years in a computer-aided drafting and design setting.
- Must be willing to travel to job sites from time to time to gather required data and meet with clients and construction personnel.
