Job Description
The Fired Heater Specialist Combustion Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and upgrading fired equipment such as furnaces, heaters, and boilers for customers in the refining and petrochemical industries, providing technical solutions and support to ensure optimal operation and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and assess fired equipment for mechanical integrity, operational suitability, and remaining useful life
- Identify failures and malfunctions; engineer technical and operational solutions
- Suggest and review maintenance scope, spare parts inventory, and sparing levels
- Conduct heater and furnace surveys; generate pre-turnaround scopes and reports
- Support equipment commissioning and startup activities
- Review equipment received at site and ensure proper installation and alignment
- Coordinate with Zeeco SMEs for site consultation and develop comprehensive solution scopes
- Integrate Zeeco applications and project teams to expedite solutions
- Provide training and educational support related to combustion systems
Requirements
- Serve in a fired equipment specialist engineer capacity for customers in designated geographic locations by providing combustion solutions for furnaces, heaters, boilers, flares, incinerators, or other fired equipment and ancillary technologies.
- Apply problem-solving skills across multiple markets, customers, and equipment.
- Travel to different facilities to diagnose equipment issues, upgrade technologies to satisfy environmental initiatives, and solve combustion problems predominantly for refining and petrochemical end users.
- Use combustion expertise to provide heroic service and solutions for company customers to develop business in the designated area.
- Assist in diagnosing all fired equipment for mechanical integrity, operational suitability, and estimated remaining useful life.
- Diagnose failures and malfunctions of fired equipment.
- Engineer technical and operational solutions for fired equipment issues.
- Suggest maintenance scope for repairs and review completed maintenance for suitability.
- Review spare parts inventory and sparing levels for fired equipment.
- Conduct heater and furnace preliminary surveys.
- Generate pre-turnaround scope and reporting for fired equipment.
- Review equipment received at site and review installed equipment for proper alignment during commissioning.
- Assist with commissioning and startup of fired equipment.
- Integrate necessary Zeeco SMEs with site for consultation.
- Develop scope of inquiry for complete solutions involving fired equipment and combustion systems.
- Integrate and expedite Zeeco applications and projecting teams.
- Coordinate training and educational opportunities related to fired equipment and combustion systems.
