Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer specializing in Scala, responsible for developing and supporting core components such as GraphQL APIs and event gateways for a retail energy platform, working collaboratively in an agile, distributed team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support core products including a GraphQL API and event gateway using Scala
- Work on discovery spike tasks, technical debt reduction, and core delivery tickets
- Participate in agile ceremonies such as planning, stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Collaborate on platform health reviews, post-mortems, and improving shared services
- Manage deployments on Kubernetes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in backend software development.
- Strong professional experience with Scala.
- Proven track record with CI CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code Terraform.
- Experience working with GraphQL and NoSQL databases such as DynamoDB.
- Evidence of proactively and independently solving complex problems.
- A collaborative mindset with experience in pair programming and peer reviews.
