A maintenance technician responsible for the daily operation, preventive and corrective maintenance of a water treatment plant, including equipment such as wells, pumps, motors, and analyzers, ensuring high-quality water treatment and plant efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in daily maintenance and operations of the water treatment plant, including wells, pumps, and motors.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and new capital project installations.
Monitor daily process operations to ensure equipment performance and water quality standards are met.
Assist in plant operations as needed, including filling in for coworkers during absences.
Maintain equipment at the water treatment plant and related facilities, including buildings and grounds.
Requirements
Possess the ability to participate in the daily maintenance and operations of the Water Treatment Plant facility wells, pump, motors, etc., as directed by the Project Manager.
Have experience working with the maintenance and operation of water treatment plant equipment, including motors, pumps, transmitters, analyzers, and related equipment.
Be capable of performing routine weekly preventive maintenance on water treatment plant equipment.
Be available to respond to emergencies or unpredictable situations outside of regular working hours if necessary.
Be willing to work a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with the understanding that there is currently no on-call rotation but may be required to respond to emergencies.
Be able to assist in the operation of the water treatment plant and float as an operator when needed, including filling in for coworker vacation time or other reasons.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent (implied, as industry certifications and operational knowledge are necessary).
Possess or be willing to obtain relevant industry certifications and licenses, with support from the employer for earning, upgrading, and maintaining certifications.
Demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance with industry standards, including maintaining high-quality drinking water standards (e.g., 100% four log compliance).
Be physically capable of performing maintenance tasks, including working with equipment such as motors, pumps, and analyzers, which may involve lifting, bending, and working in various environmental conditions.
Have a basic understanding of water treatment processes, including lime softening, disinfection with sodium hypochlorite, secondary disinfection with aqua ammonia, and fluoride addition (implied, as monitoring and maintaining these processes are part of the role).
