A full-time Water Treatment and Distribution Operator responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and monitoring of drinking water treatment and distribution systems, ensuring compliance and efficient plant performance in Adelanto, CA.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in daily operations and maintenance of drinking water treatment and distribution systems
Monitor and control water treatment processes to ensure compliance and optimal performance
Respond to emergency situations and work in inclement weather as needed
Follow safety, operating, and emergency response procedures
Maintain and operate groundwater wells, reservoirs, pump stations, and pipelines
Requirements
Possession of a valid water treatment and distribution operator certification as required by state or local regulations (specific certification levels not specified but implied as mandatory).
Ability to participate in an on call rotation for system coverage outside normal workday hours, including weekends, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions and respond to emergency situations as required.
Work in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures.
Participate in a standard schedule of 5 days per week, 8 hours per day, with a 7-day on call rotation and a $200 per week on call stipend.
Ability to perform daily process monitoring and maintenance activities of drinking water treatment and distribution systems.
Ability to work outdoors and protect natural water resources.
Ability to work as part of a team of at least 5 operators and report to the Project Manager who serves as the System’s Chief Operator.
Physical ability to respond to emergency situations and work in various weather conditions as needed.
Willingness to work shifts that may include weekends and outside normal hours as part of the on call rotation.
