The Water and Wastewater Treatment Project Manager oversees the daily operations, maintenance, and management of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance, process optimization, and effective client communication while leading a team of staff and coordinating with engineers and regulators.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water facilities
Oversee SCADA system and remote communications network
Implement and manage predictive preventative maintenance programs
Administer routine and capital repair and replacement projects
Respond to emergencies, process upsets, equipment failures, and alarm events
Provide operations and compliance reports to regulatory agencies and municipalities
Participate in capital planning and asset management planning
Collaborate with clients, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Supervise and mentor staff members
Coordinate daily utility system operations and optimize system performance
Requirements
Must possess a valid State of Florida Water and or Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators license.
Ability to make sound decisions in process control and follow instructions, as well as follow safety procedures.
10 to 15 years experience in managing complex water and or wastewater facilities.
Experience overseeing an annual operating budget of 1.5 million dollars or more.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven track record with regulators.
Ability to perform hands-on work and produce all required reports related to water and wastewater treatment operations.
Ability to coordinate the on-going daily operation of the utility system.
Availability for first shift, Monday - Friday, with reliable and dependable attendance.
Availability for standby duty and the ability to be on-call, working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Participation in city department meetings as requested.
Response to emergency events and alarm callouts as scheduled and required.
