Job Description

The Wastewater Project Manager oversees the planning, design, construction, and operation of wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects, leading project teams and engaging with clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee wastewater and drinking water projects from planning through operations.
  • Lead project teams, including mentoring staff and coordinating with technical and organizational leadership.
  • Engage with client stakeholders to understand their needs and support project delivery.
  • Evaluate, plan, design, and support construction of water infrastructure and systems.
  • Ensure project compliance with local and federal regulations.
  • Support marketing and proposal efforts for new projects.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in evaluating, planning, designing, and constructing drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and systems.
  • Ability to manage project teams from the planning, preliminary design, final design, construction phases, start-up, and operations of facilities or infrastructure.
  • Experience engaging with client stakeholders such as operators, superintendents, and public officials to understand and support their needs.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of issues related to master planning, treatment, distribution, and collection systems (preferred).
  • Ability to lead the delivery of multiple wastewater and drinking water projects.
  • Familiarity with local and federal regulations related to wastewater and drinking water projects.
  • Ability to support marketing and proposal efforts for wastewater and drinking water projects.
  • Proven experience in providing project management and engineering support on wastewater and drinking water projects.
  • Strong technical focus with the ability to evaluate, plan, design, and support construction of water infrastructure systems.
  • Experience working with mid- and senior-level technical staff and leadership across an organization.
  • Ability to direct and collaborate with a team of junior and mid-level staff.
  • Experience working with electrical, structural, CAD, operations, and SCADA teams to deliver project outcomes.
  • Willingness to participate in delivery system improvement programs and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Familiarity with local and federal regulations governing water infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to support proposal development and marketing efforts for water projects.
