Job Description

The Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a wastewater treatment facility, performing technical and physical tasks such as testing samples, servicing equipment, and repairing pipelines, while ensuring environmental compliance and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facility equipment
Test and process samples in the laboratory
Input data into plant databases
Perform general housekeeping and equipment servicing
Gather and record plant operational data
Repair pipelines and maintain plant grounds
Respond to emergency situations and work outside normal hours as needed

Requirements

Full-time, year-round availability to work at the wastewater treatment plant in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
Responsibility for the full-time operation and general maintenance of the facility's treatment process equipment.
Ability to perform testing and processing of samples in the laboratory.
Ability to input data accurately into plant databases.
Capability to perform housekeeping tasks and service the plant's equipment.
Experience gathering plant data and maintaining accurate records.
Willingness to perform physical tasks such as snow removal and grounds keeping.
Ability to repair up to five miles of aluminum pipelines on a 300-acre site.
Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
Must be available for emergency call-outs outside normal working hours as needed.
Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (implied, as technical tasks are involved).
Experience or training related to wastewater treatment operations (implied, as responsibilities include plant operation and maintenance).
Physical ability to perform tasks such as servicing equipment, repairing pipelines, and groundskeeping.
Willingness to respond to emergencies and work outdoors and indoors as required.
Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with on-call rotation including weekends and holidays
