Job Description
The Wastewater Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a wastewater treatment facility, performing technical and physical tasks such as testing samples, servicing equipment, and repairing pipelines, while ensuring environmental compliance and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain wastewater treatment facility equipment
- Test and process samples in the laboratory
- Input data into plant databases
- Perform general housekeeping and equipment servicing
- Gather and record plant operational data
- Repair pipelines and maintain plant grounds
- Respond to emergency situations and work outside normal hours as needed
Requirements
- Full-time, year-round availability to work at the wastewater treatment plant in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.
- Responsibility for the full-time operation and general maintenance of the facility's treatment process equipment.
- Ability to perform testing and processing of samples in the laboratory.
- Ability to input data accurately into plant databases.
- Capability to perform housekeeping tasks and service the plant's equipment.
- Experience gathering plant data and maintaining accurate records.
- Willingness to perform physical tasks such as snow removal and grounds keeping.
- Ability to repair up to five miles of aluminum pipelines on a 300-acre site.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation outside normal hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be available for emergency call-outs outside normal working hours as needed.
- Ability to work in inclement weather conditions.
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (implied, as technical tasks are involved).
- Experience or training related to wastewater treatment operations (implied, as responsibilities include plant operation and maintenance).
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as servicing equipment, repairing pipelines, and groundskeeping.
- Willingness to respond to emergencies and work outdoors and indoors as required.
- Ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment.

Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with on-call rotation including weekends and holidays
