The Wastewater Operations Maintenance Technician is responsible for participating in the daily operations and maintenance of a wastewater treatment facility, ensuring efficient plant performance and compliance with regulations, while supporting professional growth and career advancement in the wastewater field.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility
Perform routine inspections and monitor equipment to ensure proper functioning
Assist in operating automated treatment processes, including the Bardenpho Biological Nutrient Removal system
Support compliance with environmental regulations and safety standards
Maintain accurate records of operational activities and maintenance tasks
Requirements
Participate in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment Facility as directed by the Plant Manager and Lead O M Technician.
Possess the ability to work outdoors protecting water resources.
Be willing to work at the New Wright City South WWTF which utilizes a highly automated, 4-stage Bardenpho Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) Process with Side Stream Reactor (SSR) for Phosphorus removal.
Have a valid driver’s license and the ability to operate and maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
Be committed to working safely and following all safety protocols and procedures.
Be able to perform physical tasks associated with wastewater treatment plant operations, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Be actively working towards or willing to obtain and maintain industry licenses and certifications relevant to wastewater treatment operations, with reimbursement provided by the company for earning, upgrading, and keeping licenses and certifications.
Have a basic understanding of wastewater treatment processes and equipment operation.
Be able to follow detailed instructions and operational procedures.
Be willing to participate in training and professional development opportunities related to wastewater treatment operations.
