Job Description
The Lead Water Distribution O M Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, repairing, and inspecting water and sewer distribution systems, including handling heavy equipment, welding, fabricating parts, and responding to customer needs, while managing invoicing and inventory in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the operations, maintenance, and repairs of the water distribution system
- Repair water and sewer pipes, valves, hydrants, and other appurtenances
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, vac-trucks, and backhoes
- Weld and fabricate parts and tools for system repairs
- Assist in locating, inspecting, and installing new water and sewer lines
- Respond to and resolve customer complaints related to water services
- Repair streets, driveways, and yards following installation operations
- Manage invoicing and inventory related to water distribution activities
Requirements
- Participate in the operations, maintenance, and repairs of the water distribution system.
- Repair water and sewer pipes, valves, hydrants, and other appurtenances.
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment such as excavators, track loaders, wheel loaders, vac-trucks, and backhoes.
- Perform welding and fabricating of parts and tools.
- Repair water and sewer mains.
- Assist with responding to and resolving customer complaints related to water distribution.
- Repair streets, driveways, and yards following installation operations.
- Assist in locating and inspecting new water lines and related infrastructure.
- Be responsible for invoicing and inventory management related to water distribution operations.
- Work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the requirement to work irregular hours and overtime as needed.
