Job Description

The Failure Analysis Technician is responsible for analyzing, troubleshooting, and documenting issues related to electronic PCB failures in soldering lines to ensure product quality, collaborating with engineering teams, and performing root cause analysis using various tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and monitor issues related to failure products
  • Track repaired and revised products
  • Summarize failure analysis reports
  • Perform root cause analysis on failed electronic PCB assemblies using diagnostic tools
  • Interpret schematics and PCB layouts to identify failure points
  • Document findings and corrective actions clearly in reports
  • Collaborate with design, test, and process engineering teams to identify design, material, or process issues
  • Apply fundamental electronics knowledge to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits

Requirements

  • Candidates must have graduated from intermediates, colleges or universities majoring in electronics.
  • Candidates must have at least 3 years of working experience in electronic circuit repair or related fields.
  • Candidates must be able to read and understand electronic circuit board components, soldering skills, and electronic circuit repair.
  • Applicants must speak basic English.
  • Perform root cause analysis on failed electronic PCB assemblies using tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and microscopes.
  • Interpret schematics and PCB layouts to identify failure points related to components, solder joints, and circuit design.
  • Document findings clearly in failure analysis reports, including probable cause, test results, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Apply fundamental electronics knowledge such as Ohm's Law, signal integrity, and component behavior to troubleshoot analog and digital circuits effectively.
  • Be responsible for analyzing and monitoring arising issues related to failure products.
  • Be responsible for tracking repaired revised products.
  • Be responsible for summarizing failure analysis reports.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and process engineering teams to correlate failures with design, material, or process issues.
  • Be physically able to participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
  • Work 48 hours per week in an office and production area.
