Job Description

The Global Director of Finance oversees the international financial close processes, manages multi-entity and multi-currency financial reporting, ensures compliance with accounting standards, and collaborates on tax and accounting strategies across global operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for multiple entities worldwide.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, account reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements under US GAAP.
  • Partner with executives and external consultants to develop and implement tax and accounting strategies across multi-national operations.
  • Manage day-to-day compliance operations, including all tax and accounting activities.
  • Coordinate and manage the global financial close process, ensuring adherence to deadlines and internal controls.
  • Review and analyze financial data from various entities to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in multiple currencies.
  • Perform complex account reconciliations for multiple entities, including bank accounts, intercompany accounts, and accruals.
  • Investigate and resolve reconciling items considering currency exchange rate fluctuations and global factors.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements in multiple currencies, including translation adjustments and consolidation.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in global financial operations.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support global business decisions and provide insights and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of Accounting or Finance
  • CPA certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Previous experience managing general ledger accounting and monthly close processes
  • Experience with multi-entity management
  • Experience with transfer pricing
  • Experience with lease accounting and foreign exchange (FX) accounting
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and ERP systems
  • Ability to coordinate and manage the financial close process for multiple entities worldwide, ensuring adherence to deadlines and internal controls
  • Ability to review and analyze financial data from various entities to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Ability to prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation in multiple currencies
