A research internship focused on developing and applying machine learning techniques for robotics, particularly large behavior models, to enhance robotic manipulation, safety, and adaptability in human environments.
Key Responsibilities
Propose, conduct, and transfer pioneering research in Machine Learning for Robotics.
Utilize large sensory data and simulation to solve open problems.
Test research ideas in real-world robotic applications.
Contribute to publications at top academic venues related to ML and robotics.
Work on areas such as Policy Evaluation, Failure Detection and Mitigation, and Active Learning for Large Behavior Models.
Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with relevant coursework or experience in Machine Learning or Robotics.
Experience working with large amounts of sensory data and simulation to solve open problems in Machine Learning for Robotics.
Knowledge of and experience with at least one of the following areas: Policy Evaluation, Failure Detection and Mitigation, Active Learning, Multi-Modal Foundation Models, Generative Modeling, Imitation Learning, Reinforcement Learning, Planning Control, Statistics, Uncertainty Estimation, Out-of-Distribution Detection, Safety-Aware Robust Machine Learning, Online Continual Learning.
Ability to propose, conduct, and transfer pioneering research in Machine Learning for Robotics as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience working towards publications at top academic venues related to Machine Learning or Robotics.
Willingness to test research ideas in real-world settings, including on robots.
Availability to commit to a 12-week paid internship during Summer 2026.
Ability to work in a hybrid in-office role, with the expectation of working on-site as required.

Pay rate expectation of between $45 and $65 per hour, depending on experience and other factors.
