A research internship focused on developing 3D shape generation techniques for automotive CAD design using generative AI and machine learning, supporting innovation in vehicle design and engineering processes.
Key Responsibilities
Develop 3D shape generation techniques for CAD, including point cloud to CAD and image to CAD conversions.
Collaborate with mentors and participate in team and division meetings to align research with business goals.
Engage in interdisciplinary industrial research to support human decision making through generative AI and design tools.
Requirements
Currently pursuing a PhD in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or related disciplines with demonstrated interest in design and generative AI.
Strong background in CAD Generation and Machine Learning or related fields.
Experience developing 3D shape generation techniques with applications to CAD, such as point cloud to CAD and image to CAD.
Ability to develop 3D shape generation techniques with applications to CAD, including point cloud to CAD and image to CAD.
Availability to participate in a 13-week summer internship in Summer 2026, which is a paid internship.
Willingness to work in a hybrid in-office role during the internship period.
Ability to participate in all relevant meetings, including Future Product Innovation group meetings, Human-Centered AI division meetings, and meetings with stakeholders from relevant Toyota business groups.
Capability to engage in interdisciplinary industrial research and connect research to business impact at Toyota.
Availability to work in California-based roles with a pay range of $45 to $65 per hour, depending on experience and other factors.
