Job Description
The role involves leading site design for industrial rail facilities, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure solutions for railroads, and developing project management and business development skills within a collaborative, employee-owned firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead site design for industrial facilities such as railyards, maintenance buildings, fueling stations, and administrative offices
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative infrastructure solutions for railroads
- Grow project management skills and mentor junior staff
- Contribute to business development by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development
Requirements
- Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering or the ability to obtain one in Illinois.
- Experience in site design for industrial facilities such as railyards, maintenance and service buildings, locomotive fueling stations, and administrative offices.
- Ability to lead site design projects independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural engineering professionals.
- Experience in project management, including growing project management skills and mentoring junior staff.
- Ability to contribute to business development efforts by cultivating client relationships and supporting proposal development.
- Completion of a relevant bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Standard pre-employment background screening including Social Security verification, educational verification, review of criminal convictions, and driving history.
