Job Description
The Senior Backend Engineer will develop and maintain backend systems for Sword Health's AI-driven healthcare platform, contributing to the company's mission of making healthcare more accessible and cost-effective through innovative AI solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend systems for the AI Care platform
- Design scalable and efficient server-side architecture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and improvements
Requirements
- Candidates must possess a valid EU visa and be based in Portugal.
- Experience in backend engineering, with a focus on developing and maintaining scalable, reliable backend systems.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for backend development (such as Python, Java, or Node.js).
- Strong understanding of API design and development.
- Experience with cloud services and deployment (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Experience with database systems, including designing and optimizing SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Knowledge of security best practices for backend systems.
- Experience working in a remote work environment with flexible working hours.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (implied, as a typical requirement for senior engineering roles).
