Job Description
The On-Site Project Manager will oversee the installation and operation of a battery manufacturing line in Korea, ensuring project milestones, safety standards, and stakeholder communication are maintained in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain communication channels with partners and internal stakeholders
- Support phase-gate reviews and ensure achievement of program milestones
- Manage onsite activities, supervise production, and collaborate with contractors to meet project objectives
- Monitor subcontractor and crew performance, resolve production delays
- Record and maintain change logs and ensure compliance with safety and process standards
- Coordinate logistics, deliveries, permits, and access to ensure smooth workflow
- Provide technical reports on site activities, changes, and compliance issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical discipline
- 8 years of industry experience in process manufacturing engineering with 2 years in a battery related field
- 3 years of site deployment experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage subcontractors effectively in dynamic site environments
- Experience serving as a Program Manager with direct customer engagement and relationship management
- Skilled in gaining buy-in across all organizational levels, even in high-stakes or sensitive situations
- Deep understanding of phase gate methodology and its application in complex projects
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, paired with sharp analytical thinking
- Quick to adapt and thrive in fast-paced, start-up or high-growth settings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Must be able for site deployment starting Q4 2025
- Work onsite in Daejeon, Korea, and manage everyday work at the site while collaborating closely with contractors
- Coordinate logistics, deliveries, and access to ensure smooth workflow
- Ensure all necessary permits are coordinated and in place, maintaining organized records of permits and related documentation
- Observe worksite practices to ensure adherence to agreed-upon processes and safety standards
- Record and maintain a change log with dates, reasons, and responsible parties
- Support phase-gate reviews and ensure program milestones are achieved
- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with joint development partners and all internal stakeholders
- Provide daily or weekly technical reports summarizing site activities, changes, or compliance issues
- Monitor subcontractors and crew performance on site and resolve production bottlenecks or delays
- Initiate and foster relationships with partners, contractors, and internally
- Coordinate equipment preparation progress SAT
- Ensure all permits and related documentation are in place and maintained
