Job Description
A Process Technician at Solestial is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment to process ultra-thin solar cells, troubleshooting issues, and supporting the transfer of research and development processes to large-scale manufacturing in the space solar energy industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate R&D equipment to process ultra-thin solar cells according to documented procedures
- Troubleshoot tool failures and diagnose intermediate-level alarms
- Assist process engineers with transferring R&D processes to large-scale manufacturing tools
- Perform operational preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment
- Conduct basic quality control procedures during floor operations
- Work with simple hand tools and systems during manufacturing processes
Requirements
- Safely operating R D equipment to run baseline solar cell production lots according to documented procedures
- Troubleshooting tool failures during solar cell processing
- Assisting process engineers with transferring R D processes to large-scale manufacturing tools
- Performing operational preventative maintenance on large-scale manufacturing equipment
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting intermediate-level alarms on manufacturing equipment
- Running basic quality control procedures on solar cell production
- Working with simple hand tools and systems during floor operations
- Processing ultra-thin solar cells according to baseline processes
- Possession of relevant technical skills to operate and maintain manufacturing equipment
- Ability to follow documented procedures accurately
- Experience or ability to perform troubleshooting on manufacturing tools and systems
- Physical ability to work with hand tools and perform equipment maintenance
- Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment involving equipment operation and maintenance
