Job Description

The Facilities Manager will oversee the operation, maintenance, and expansion of a solar panel recycling facility, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance while managing staff, projects, and utility infrastructure to support sustainable manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the building, facilities equipment, machinery, and utility infrastructure.
  • Manage building, facilities, and utility system upgrades, renovations, and expansions.
  • Manage utility supply to the factory and interface with utility providers.
  • Supervise and support the facilities maintenance staff and outsourced service providers.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor facility performance metrics and implement corrective actions for improvements.
  • Develop and manage facilities operating and capital budgets, controlling costs.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in facilities management of manufacturing facilities, with a strong understanding of maintenance, operations, and project management.
  • Experience with EHS programs and OSHA and environmental compliance rules.
  • Experience managing projects and programs related to building, facilities, and utility system upgrades, renovations, and expansions.
  • Ability to oversee the maintenance and operation of the building and site, including facilities equipment, machinery, and utility infrastructure.
  • Ability to manage utility supply to the factory, including interface with utility providers.
  • Experience managing facilities maintenance staff, providing training, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Experience managing outsourced services such as security, janitorial, landscaping, pest control, fire alarm, and sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze facility performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
  • Experience developing and managing facilities operational expenditure (opex) and capital expenditure (capex) budgets, controlling costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, facility management software, and tools.
  • Ability to coordinate with other departments such as production, quality control, and safety to ensure seamless operations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers.
  • Physical capability to perform hands-on tasks when needed.
  • High degree of autonomy with strong initiative and being a self-starter.
  • Ability to adapt and wear many hats, multi-task effectively.
