Job Description
The Senior Staff Accountant at Sila is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, supporting month-end close activities, and assisting with financial reporting and audits, with a focus on manufacturing-related accounting areas such as fixed assets, inventory, and COGS.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day accounting operations and period-end close functions
- Prepare and post journal entries and complete account reconciliations
- Support the preparation of financial statements
- Maintain fixed asset ledger and calculate monthly depreciation
- Support inventory and COGS reconciliation processes
- Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts such as prepaids and inventory
- Assist with external audit processes and documentation
- Conduct technical accounting research and document accounting issues
- Refine and document accounting policies and internal controls
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting
- Assist with ad hoc tasks and regulatory filings
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in accounting preferably in the manufacturing industry
- CPA preferred or actively pursuing CPA certification
- Experience with standard costing and variance analysis
- Fixed asset and or Inventory experience preferred
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts
- Experience with large ERP systems preferred, ideally in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient with Google Apps Gmail, Docs, Sheets
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $105,000 to $123,000
