Job Description
The Operations Engineer in this role is responsible for developing, improving, and maintaining materials synthesis processes in an R&D environment to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and supporting process optimization in a battery materials company.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement improvements to materials synthesis processes to enhance safety, capacity, and quality
- Troubleshoot, correct, and prevent issues in synthesis processes in collaboration with technicians, engineers, and scientists
- Develop and implement quality control measures to ensure material standards are met or exceeded
- Address material quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Mentor, train, and support technicians on processes and equipment
- Improve data collection, organization, and analysis to identify potential problems and opportunities
- Scope, plan, and integrate new equipment and processes to improve performance and yield
- Maintain detailed documentation of equipment, processes, and improvements
- Generate reports on process performance, efficiency, and quality metrics for management
Requirements
- Proficiency in data collection and analysis
- Ability to carefully plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated ability to learn new systems and improve them
- Direct experience working in an R D laboratory or manufacturing environment
- Understanding of materials
- Pass a respirator fit test and be able to wear respiratory protection on a daily basis
- Wearing personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, a lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe safety shoes
- Hands-on work in the lab expected up to 75% of the time
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $128,000 to $162,000
Work environment: Onsite
Work schedule: Hands-on work expected up to 75% of the time
