Job Description
The Supply Chain Intern at Samsara supports the hardware supply chain team by assisting with strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, market research, cost analysis, and process optimization to help improve and streamline the company's global supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support supplier relationships to align on component pipeline and risk assessments
- Develop global sourcing strategies and evaluate new supplier opportunities
- Assist with collecting quotes, negotiating with suppliers, and conducting cost analysis
- Support the development of supply chain spend analytics processes and systems
- Conduct market research on industry trends, cost drivers, and global pricing
- Identify cost savings opportunities through cross-functional collaboration and process optimization
- Assist with cost modeling for custom components
Requirements
- Actively pursuing an MBA or a Master’s degree in Business, Engineering Management, Supply Chain, Operations, or a similar field, graduating in Spring 2027.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant technical field such as Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years of work experience, preferably in an Operations-focused role, prior to going back for your Master’s or MBA.
- Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail, prioritization, and triage of complicated issues.
- Ability to develop strategic insights and identify trends from data analysis.
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into insights and craft executive presentations.
- Self-motivated, proactive, creative, and capable of critical problem-solving.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, ambiguous settings.
- Experience collaborating and working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in supply chain, manufacturing, or planning is preferred.
