Job Description
The role involves leading full-cycle technical recruiting for R&D teams at Samsara, focusing on sourcing, engaging, and hiring high-caliber software engineering, machine learning, and product management talent to support the company's growth and innovation efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end hiring process for R&D IC and leadership roles, ensuring high-quality execution from initial contact to offer acceptance.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to understand their needs and influence recruitment strategies accordingly.
- Build and maintain high-caliber talent pipelines through market mapping and long-term engagement initiatives.
- Utilize creative sourcing methods, including direct outreach and talent network mapping, to engage top-tier candidates.
- Identify and resolve friction points in the hiring process to streamline candidate experience and improve search clarity.
- Collaborate with team members to foster a collective, success-oriented hiring culture.
- Apply modern tools and AI thoughtfully to enhance recruiting efficiency and maintain quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including ownership of high-bar roles with hard-to-close profiles across multiple disciplines.
- Proven track record of successfully hiring for technical roles, such as Software Engineers.
- Demonstrated success running searches for senior stakeholders at Director level and above, with an emphasis on trust, rigor, and influence.
- Experience hiring for technical roles in innovative and high-bar companies.
- Proven ability to build effective outbound and passive talent strategies in constrained markets, especially where the easy path doesn’t work.
- Strong track record of navigating complex hiring scenarios, including pushback, ambiguity, and process risk, while maintaining a long-term focus on hiring quality.
- Excellent communication skills to align stakeholders, mitigate surprises, and deliver crisp execution.
- Ability to lead end-to-end hiring processes for R&D IC and leadership roles, ensuring outstanding execution from first touch to close.
- Ability to work as a strategic partner by understanding the needs of senior stakeholders and influencing recruitment strategies.
- Experience in building high-caliber pipelines through market mapping and long-range engagement programs, even when no active roles are open.
- Experience employing creative sourcing methods, including mapping talent networks and direct outreach to engage top-tier candidates who aren’t on the open market.
- Proactive identification and resolution of friction points in hiring processes to simplify the hiring journey and bring structure to ambiguous searches.
