Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer responsible for designing and implementing mapping infrastructure to support routing, navigation, and telematics solutions for large fleet operations, enhancing safety, efficiency, and scalability of physical operations across industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement infrastructure for creating layered map data, including map tiles, map matching, geocoding, routing, and route optimization.
- Develop and maintain frontend and backend services that scale with fleet size.
- Collaborate with product teams to build maps infrastructure, editors, and data pipelines.
- Translate logistical challenges into scalable software solutions for mapping and navigation.
- Engage with customers when needed to understand their needs and improve mapping products.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
- 4 years of experience as a software engineer
- Fullstack or backend development experience
- Strong programming coding fundamentals
- Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions
- An ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones with your team
- Demonstrated ability executing in ambiguous environments and delivering customer value
- Proven experience shaping and improving mapping, routing or navigation products
- A passion for mentoring and helping junior engineers grow
- A track record of thriving in 0-1 teams and scaling them through the post startup phase
- The ability and willingness to engage directly with customers when needed
