Job Description
The Accounting Manager will oversee general ledger accounting operations and close processes for Samsara's US business, ensuring accurate financial records and effective internal controls while managing a team of accountants in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- •Manage various close responsibilities including cash, prepaids, accruals, and intercompany transactions.
- •Oversee and review the preparation of financial reporting packages for senior executives.
- •Support the development and implementation of accounting policies in conformity with GAAP.
- •Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations and coach staff on best practices.
- •Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure reasonable and complete accruals and estimates.
- •Drive efficiencies in systems through deployment of RPA and support UAT and deployment.
- •Ensure proper coding of journals across the company's cost center structures.
- •Perform fluctuation reviews on balance sheet and P&L accounts.
- •Review control design and create mechanisms to ensure effective internal controls.
- •Identify and escalate errors or anomalies in the books and records.
- •Promote a coaching culture and ensure team familiarity with best practices.
- •Stay current on trends in accounting and encourage professional development for team members.
- •Execute ad-hoc projects and initiatives as directed by the Assistant Controller.
Requirements
- •5 years of progressive experience in accounting
- •2 years of leadership experience
- •Experience working with auditors
- •US CPA required
- •Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
- •Strong working knowledge of Excel
- •Experience managing a team
- •Experience in a SaaS environment
- •Strong written and oral communication skills
